Enhanced Food and Hunger HUD Mod for Minecraft
Overview
This mod introduces a variety of food and hunger-related HUD enhancements to Minecraft, offering players detailed visual feedback about their nutritional status and food effects. While primarily a client-side modification, installation on the server is also recommended for accurate display of saturation and exhaustion values on the client.
Main Features
Food Value Tooltips
When hovering over food items, additional food value information is presented directly in the tooltip. This allows players to make informed decisions about which foods to consume, seeing exactly how much hunger and saturation each item restores.
Saturation and Exhaustion Visualization
The mod adds a visual representation of both saturation and exhaustion directly onto the HUD. This enhanced display helps players to better understand their current state of nourishment and how different actions impact their hunger mechanics.
Potential Restoration Preview
- Hunger & Saturation Preview: While holding a food item, the HUD shows a preview indicating the amount of hunger and saturation that will be restored upon consumption.
- Health Restoration Preview: For foods capable of restoring health, the mod displays an estimate of the potential health recovery from eating the held item.
Advanced Debug Information
Additional hunger, saturation, and exhaustion details are incorporated into the game’s debug overlay (accessed with F3), providing a deeper insight into the player’s current survival status.
Synchronization with Server
The mod ensures that saturation and exhaustion values remain synchronized between server and client, allowing all the above features to present accurate information during multiplayer gameplay.
Gameplay Notice
This enhancement is informational only: it does not alter any base mechanics or change gameplay balance. All food mechanics function based on the standard Minecraft system. The improved HUD simply makes otherwise hidden stats visible and understandable.
