Bringing First-Person Animations to Third-Person in Minecraft
This mod enhances the third-person perspective by introducing and refining many animations typically exclusive to first-person view. Designed originally as an extension for the First-Person Mod, it also functions perfectly as a standalone addition. The mod ensures a seamless, purely visual experience that is fully compatible with vanilla and third-party Minecraft servers.
Core Features
- Every animation feature can be individually toggled from an in-game configuration menu, which is accessible through the ModList or ModMenu interface.
Added and Improved Animations
- Eating and Drinking: Third-person view now reflects the same fluid motion found in first-person, providing greater immersion when your character consumes food or potions.
- Map Usage: When you hold a map, the actual content is visible in third-person—provided it has loaded on your client, either by holding it previously or viewing it in an item frame.
- Shield Blocking: Shield will now align to your line of sight, rather than simply following body rotation. This syncs the player’s body movement with head direction for more authentic blocking actions.
- Two-Handed Item Animations: Offhand items are automatically hidden during two-handed activities like using a bow or crossbow, keeping animations accurate and clean.
- Boat Rowing: The character visibly rows the boat, replacing the stationary pose and making movement appear much more dynamic and realistic.
- Horse Riding: Characters now visibly hold the reins while riding a horse, adding a layer of believability to horseback traversal.
- Compass and Clock Viewing: Adds visible animations for checking your compass or clock. This is primarily a visual bonus, enhancing utility—especially when used alongside the First-person Mod—but can be easily customized in the mod’s configuration to include more items.
- Ladder and Climbing: Introduces proper climbing animations for ladders, making vertical movement look much smoother in third-person.
- Crawling Animation: When out of water, the standard swimming animation is replaced with a crawling motion, enriching the visual experience for underground or confined-space movement.
- Smooth Arm Transitions: Adds fluid arm movements to further polish all supported actions and transitions.
Usage and Compatibility
All features are purely visual and do not affect gameplay mechanics. The mod is fully compatible with vanilla and third-party Minecraft servers, ensuring you can safely use these improved animations anywhere.
