Voice Chat User Interface (GUI)
To open the voice chat interface, press the V key. Within this menu, you can access settings, group chats, mute yourself, disable the voice chat feature, initiate or end a recording, and toggle the visibility of all chat icons.
Group Chats
Group chats allow you to converse with other players regardless of their proximity in Minecraft. Open the group chat menu either by clicking the group button in the voice chat GUI or by pressing the G key.
- Creating Groups: Enter a group name in the text field and select the adjacent button to create your group.
- Group Chat Interface: Upon creating or joining, you’ll see group member avatars in the top left corner; speaking players are highlighted. Toggle these icons with the third button from the left.
- Group Icon Indication: Non-group players will notice a group icon next to your avatar, indicating restricted communication.
- Inviting Players: Invite others to your chat group using the command
/voicechat invite <playername>.
Voice Chat Settings
Press V and then the settings button in the GUI to adjust your voice chat preferences:
- Modify overall voice chat volume and microphone amplification.
- Select your desired recording and playback devices.
- Enable microphone testing to listen to your own voice and set the activation threshold for voice detection.
